Sella Bay Overlook/Trailhead
Mid-point up the southern mountains, the Sella Bay Overlook offers a sweeping view of some of the more striking features of Guam's southern natural beauty. Though it is a bit of a climb up the 88 steps to the overlook, there are adequate landings, railings, and benches at the top to make the experience easily manageable. With views of Mt. Lam Lam to the east, Sella Bay to the west, and Cocos Island to the south, the overlook provides plenty of picture-taking opportunities. At the base of the stairs that lead to the overlook, one can see a trail leading downhill. A 30- minute hike down this well-worn trail will lead you to the remains of an ancient Chamorro village where latte stone structure remains and a stone beehive oven can still be seen. The overlook and trail are not accessible to people with disabilities, yet there is quite a good view from the parking area. There are no facilities at this site.
How to get there: Take Route 1/Marine Corps Drive south for 11 miles to the U.S. Army Reserve Center. Turn left and continue on Route 2 for another five miles. You will be entering Agat. Within a few minutes of leaving Agat, you will see the view point off on your right. There is ample parking in the parking lot to the right.
