Currency Exchange

Although Guam uses the U.S. dollar, currencies such as the Japanese Yen, Philippine Peso, Korean Won, Hong Kong Dollar, Taiwan NT, Deutsche Mark, and Australian Dollar can be exchanged at the airport, banks, and other financial centers.

Automated Teller Machines (ATM) are conveniently located in the airport, some hotels, shopping malls and grocery stores. Three international systems Cirrus, Plus, and Star allow international financial transactions. For international transactions, the rate of exchange depends on the rate for the day. These rates are published in the local newspaper or at local banks.

Credit Cards
American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, JCB, and other major credit cards are widely accepted.

Banks
Guam is the major financial center of the Western Pacific. This reality is reflected in the number of major international and domestic banks, as well as savings and loan institutions, that do business on island. Regular banking hours are: Monday-Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday; 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Saturday 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. These times may change so it’s best to contact the bank(s) for current operating hours.
